Can that be answered by making tethering the same as "adding support of OpenGarden's mesh-type shared connectivity services"? [See more about Open Garden here](http://opengarden.com/)

Yes, the Tethering app, which I linked in my [previous post](https://together.jolla.com/question/299/wifi-tethering/?answer=6438#post-id-6438), is now available in Jolla store. Cheers ;)

Just saw a new app in the Jolla app store called Tethering.

Having used this application extensively I can say it has shown to function perfectly during hours of testing. More stable than Joikuspot on Symbian and the battery life is much less affected. Thank...

@Jare - Found the Tethering app in the Jolla Store yesterday. Yes, I still want tethering built-in in the OS, but until then this is very neat. Tried it yesterday, and it works fine. Thank you! :-)

@Jare - Neat! :-D Being of the "I should most probably not tinker with the terminal"-variety, I think I'll wait until it's included in a SailfishOS update (or at least until it's available as a Jolla...

A related feature request is this question about [bluetooth tethering](https://together.jolla.com/question/1058/bluetooth-tethering/).

You can install it also through file browser, no need to use terminal.

Until it is officially available, I did write a simple app for doing this, but have not yet had time to substantially test etc. and submit it to Harbour. I have the code available in Github (...

Bluetooth tethering still needs work/certification, so it will not be in the very next update. But soon..

I find wlan tethering quite inconvenient compared to bluetooth tethering. Does this update bring BT-tethering too? Jolla is certainly capable of doing so, as the tether app from the store supports it.

actually WEP is useless. Its without benefit of crypto, but with the discomfort (entering passphrase).

Cool to know, but.. if it can be enabled by command line, should it be solved by 3rd party app while sailors focus on something more important?

Yes please close this question. Maybe this app should be added to the Jolla Apps but the problem is actually solved.

You can tether by USB or WIFI via command line already: [USB tutorial](http://elinux.org/Jolla#How_do_I_enable_USB_tethering.3F) [WiFi tutorial]( http://elinux.org/Jolla#How_do_I_enable_WiFi_tethering.3F)

Via cmd looks easy for you, experts of Linux, but for people that is starting (I put myself in that group) it's a bit complicated :S An app would be better

I also reckon that when there's an app, it has been approved by Jolla, so it is safer. And @petaqui has a point too.
